Objectives
The Finance Department plays a vital role to support the administration of KKMC in achieving its Vision, Mission and Objectives. The following are the Finance Department’s objectives :-
- To provide a systematic and effective accounting system and financial management.
- To strengthen strategic planning, budgeting functions and financial management, coordinating a number of important activities that are vital for effective management of the KKCH’s finance so as to achieve the desired self financing objective.
- To meet the KKCH’s needs for fast and accurate financial services and reporting through the used of Information Technology
- To improve the revenue of KKCH by reviewing its source of revenue, its weaknesses to collect, to explore new potential source of revenue and to come up with new strategies.
Functions
- To administer financial services and reporting and financial management of the council
- To issue the quarterly rates assessment bills under joint effort with the computer department and to update its records.
- To make payments on all valid claims and to maintain at all time its record for audit purpose until its expiry date
- To collect all types of payment through the cashiers counter and to bank it in and accounted for properly
- To control the expenditure of the council within its budget
- With joint effort with the Valuation Department, to regulate periodic revaluation of properties
