Function/Objective
FUNCTIONS OF VALUATION DEPARTMENT
 
       VALUATION
·         To discharge statutory duties provided under Part X and section 56 of the Local Government Ordinance, 1961, and Article 156 of the Federal Constitution.
·         Responsible in preparing City Hall Annual Rates Order.
·         Responsible in improving valuation approaches/methods/standards especially at  local authority level. 
·         Responsible to look for alternative sources of revenue arising from optimum utillisation of land.
·         Responsible to provide rateable property information for National Property Information Centre (NAPIC) and Malaysia Geospatial Data Infrastructral (MyGDI).
 
       ADVERTISEMENT
     

·      To discharge statutory duties provided under MPKK (Advertisement)Bylaws,1983 

·     Responsible in improving the approach / management of advertisement processes. 

·      Responsible in seeking avenue for deriving benefits  (tangibles/intangibles – through       

      smart  partnership) from Advertisement Industry.

       ADMINISTRATION

·      Responsible in keeping, maintaining, updating all data and information used and   

      generated by the Valuation Department.

·      Responsible in ensuring the smooth running of activities within the Valuation Department.

·      Responsible in assisting to ensure staff of  Valuation Department expose or undergoing

     relevant technical training / course and at the same time, monitoring their performance .

·        Responsible in carrying out quarterly review of activities within Valuation Department.

·      Responsible in carrying out quarterly review of activities within Valuation Department.

     Together with the Valuation Recreation and Sport committee to ensure that friendship    

     among staffs is at level best, and the social and welfare of the Valuation’s staffs are        
     taken
care.

  

OBJECTIVES OF VALUATION DEPARTMENT
  
·         To undertake the management and implementation of valuation list for property rates purposes.
·         Responsible in processing and issuing advertising licenses.
·         To ensure that rateable properties and advertisement databases are maintained and managed efficiently.
·         To obtain optimum returns out of land utillisation.
