Function/Objective for Legal Department

i. To ensure efficient legal advice to the Mayor and staff of City Hall and to ensure that the administrative departments of City Hall works within  with legal requirements required by law.

ii. To maintain and protect the right and  interests of Kota Kinabalu City Hall and ensure any violations of the law are dealt with in an efficientt and legal manner.

iii. To conduct on going review of the Laws that govern the efficient running of Kota Kinabalu City Hall and to make or amend said laws from time to time.

iv. To conduct the prosecution of any party who violates the Law of Kota Kinabalu City Hall and to actively pursue the collection of all funds owed to the City Hall through the courts.
