DBKK's FUNCTION is governed by Section 49 Local Gorvernment Ordinance 1961 which covers:-
  • Cleanliness

  • Beautification

  • Provide and Maintain Public Facilities

  • Public Health

  • Licensing

To be an environmental and people friendly and Renown Maritime and Nature Resort City,

Supported by;

Work System Management; emphasis on Strategic Fiscal Policies, Professional and Responsive Service Delivery Approach, and appropriate High-Tech application.

DBKK Mission

  • To perform our Statutory duties as prescribed under the the City' Enactment 1996 and the City' By-Laws and other State's and Federal related legislation's and Directives;
  • To nurture a pool of competent, capable and effective City' Managers;
  • To provide and control planning direction;
  • To act as Planning Regulator and Facilitator in the development of our infrastructural requirement, public utilities and facilities;
  • To ensure the protection of Public Interest, Health and Safety;
  • To ensure the promotion of City' Cleanliness and Beautification;
  • To promote a vibrant and progressive City' economic environment;
  • To promote Kota Kinabalu as the preferred tourist destination;
  • To nurture the development of responsible and competitive City' citizens and a harmonious social environment.
