22 July 2005, Kota Kinabalu : Sabah Tourism Board (STB) Chairman, Tengku Datuk (Dr) Zainal Adlin receiving a memento from Mayor Datuk Iliyas Ibrahim at a courtesy call on Thursday.

Adlin was leading a nine-member group comprising STB’s Board of Directors and officials. Those present were General Manager, Datuk Irene Benggon Charuruks, Board Members, John Lo, Paul Voon, Ruth Lim Kong and STB officials were introduced to Iliyas.

The STB Chairman also presented a very informative and interesting tourism briefing entitled, “Tourism in Sabah” to the Mayor and City Hall’s officers during the courtesy call.

Thanking them for the courtesy call, Iliyas congratulated the STB team, saying that STB together with the other tourism industry players in the state, have done a good job in promoting Sabah as a favourite tourists destination to the outside world.

As for City Hall, the Mayor said it has always encouraged tourism, especially in Kota Kinabalu City being the gateway to Sabah, by organizing many events aimed to promote tourism here.

On his part he said he would continue to emphasize on cleanliness in the city for the benefit of the state’s tourism and the general public as a whole.
